Remembering October 7th and Leaning Into Loving Action

May our collective grief remain the catalyst for continual action that says #notinmyname as we stand in active solidarity with our Palestinian and Jewish siblings who move through unrelenting grief; as a mother my heart aches for Israeli and Palestinian families who long to hold their beloveds and meet only air.

I grieve the silence of many within the Western church who cling to #christianzionism and lack the moral courage to say #notinourname; God calls us to resist oppressive systems not uphold them in service of empire. We must remain rooted in our faith tradition which calls us to center the #leastofthese. This year has shifted so much within me in ways I am still processing - it has become a call to continue expanding beyond my own layers of pain and trauma and connect deeply to the collective… stepping into the kind of connection which always says I choose to see even, and especially when it is uncomfortable.

Through the endless tears and longing for a world where violence is not relentless, may we be reminded that resistance to injustice (in any form) is a holy act, and we are called, as followers of Christ to center a LoVE so radical it disarms hate, and pursue justice and community which leaves no one out.

I am sharing my thoughts, along with a prayer and some of videos (you can see two of the Palestinian uplifted on our Instagram, having issues uploading here), may they speak to your spirit and strengthen your commitment to loving action -
